Why did you want to become a peer advisor?: I wanted to become a peer advisor to help other students have the amazing abroad experience I did because I believe that studying abroad gave me a better understanding of the world and appreciation for cultures other than my own  and I believe that travel is essential to learning.

Study Abroad Program: International Exchange Program - University of Nottingham in Ningbo, China (Fall 2017)

Why did you want to become a peer advisor?: Traveling abroad, whether it be by oneself or with others, can be a nerve wracking and, sometimes even, scary experience. But it doesn't have to be and I think travel should be encouraged, especially to students. I feel that, with my experience abroad, I might be able to help other students prepare for their own travels!

International Experience: I've traveled back and forth from the Netherlands and Sweden to visit family since I was little. I lived in Hangzhou, China from 2008-2010 and Halmstad, Sweden from 2012-2015 for high school. I got my dual citizenship in Sweden while there, since I am part Swedish. I traveled around when I lived abroad, and this past Fall semester (2017) I went back to China for an exchange program through the College of Charleston.

Studying with the college in Cambodia and Vietnam gave me outlooks on other cultures that I know I would have never otherwise understood. Then traveling to eastern Europe, particularly the former
