Study Abroad Programs
Come join us on one of our study abroad programs! 74% of our in-coming students choose the College of Charleston because of the rich diversity and depth of its study abroad programs. The College offers a broad range of study abroad opportunities for its students through the year:
College of Charleston programs: Students can participate in a semester-long or summer program sponsored by the College of Charleston and directed by its faculty. Students pay tuition to the College and receive College of Charleston grades and credits.
Exchange programs: College of Charleston has student exchange agreements with several foreign universities; students pay their regular tuition to the College and study abroad with one of our partner universities and receive transfer credit upon successful completion of their program.
Affiliate programs: This option provides student the opportunity to take classes abroad not normally available through College of Charleston programs. With an affiliate program, students pay program fee directly to the provider and receive transfer credit for approved course work upon successful completion of their program. Students interested in affiliate programs need to sign up for an information session before they apply to the program.

Starting January 22, 2013, the CIE will have walk-in advising hours staffed by our peer advisors. Please see below for their schedule:
- Monday - 2pm - 3pm
- Tuesday - 2pm - 3pm
- Wednesday - 12pm - 1pm
- Thursday - 12pm - 1pm
Peer advisors will be available to answer general questions about study abroad and assist students undecided on which type of program they would like to participate. Students must follow up with the appropriate advisor once they have chosen a program.
